..in a nutshell..

well hello! i decided it was about time that i post something other than the latest drama on tv, haha! lance and i have had a busy month, but it has been great! we have loved the warmer weather and the sunshine...it finally feels like spring and almost summer, yay!

so it is that time of year -- wedding season! i have only been to two so far, but there are lots more comin up this summer! how fun.
lance's adorable cousin whitney got married earlier this month, and we had the privledge of attending the wedding and reception. it was the first sealing we have been to since our own, and i loved it! the reception was out of this world -- it was AMAZING!! we had so much fun eating delicious food and dancing the night away! CONGRATS dane and whit nelson...we love you both and are so happy for you!

one of my friends from chi omega also got married earlier this month. my friend whit and i left our hubby's at home and went to this one by ourselves (we figured we'd have more fun!!)! it was a blast to see all the girls there, and brit (the bride) was as beautiful as ever! another CONGRATS to brad and brit barth!!
a couple weekends ago lance drove up to canada to pick up some of his sister's things that she left up there when she moved down here last november. i was so bummed that i couldn't go with him..i had to work. :( he didn't take any pictures, unfortunately, but he said the drive was so beautiful!! gotta love canada and those huge mountains! he was gone for 3 days, 2 nights -- the longest we have been apart since we've been married. thank goodness i have my pups to keep me company when he's gone, but i was sure excited we he got back!
this past weekend we hit the road and went to vegas! we didn't leave until thursday afternoon so we spent the first night in mesquite. the next day lance played some poker and i layed out at the pool for a while.

then it was on to vegas. we drove my dad's corvette down, which was a blast! unfortunately, lance got stung by a hornet while we were driving with the top down!! it was really scary actually, and lance's finger still hurts. poor lance..

lance has some relatives that live in vegas -- uncle lynn and aunt mary ann -- so we stayed with them. they are the FUNNIEST couple in the world, and so fun to be with. they were the best hosts ever...it seriously felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel!
lance's sisters, tiffany and wendy, came down also. tiffany went through the temple to take out her endowment. what a special occasion!! we absolutely love the temple, and are so proud of tiffany for going through!
i wish we had a few more days down there! i barely even got to shop (haha, that's probably a good thing though)! lance and i did purchase our first "pieces of art." one of the stores we went into was having a great sale -- 50% off ALL oil paintings! so we took advantage of that. the pictures wouldn't fit in the car we took down though, so they are being shipped to us.we ate at in-n-out twice and at the rio buffet...d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.! the best meal of all, though, was the salmon and strawberry rhubarb crisp that uncle lynn and aunt mary ann fed us for sunday dinner. oh, we also met marie osmond at church on sunday...so that was pretty cool too.

so yes -- we are still alive! yes -- we are doing well!! and yes -- we do more than just watch tv!!

and that is our month of may in a nutshell.
