..spring is in the air..

hmmm...i kind of don't know what to write right now. i am having writers block, which is weird bc this is supposed to be kind of like a journal, right? and i mean obviously something has happened in the last two weeks worth blogging about, right? if not, we would be pretty pathetic and so would our lives. but to tell you the honest truth, i really feel that our lives are just so ordinary right now, and nothing too terribly blog-worthy has happend, and i am okay with it, i really am! i just feel like i need to be better about documenting the ordinary stuff...i guess.

first things first. lance bought a new truck a couple weeks ago. i know what you are thinking, "didn't he just barely buy a truck a few months ago?" well, yes, he did, but apparently that one wasn't big enough. i tell ya, boys and their trucks. its so weird to me. the first thing i asked him when he told me he wanted/needed a new truck was "do you have small man's syndrome or something?" i have forbidden him from putting a lift on it, because i can barely get in it as it is, but i won't be surprised if i come home tomorrow and it is 6 inches higher. then i will know for sure he has small man's syndrome! haha jk ;). it is an extremely nice truck, though, and he does work super hard so he deserves it!
my mom's birthday is at the end of the month, and for a while now i have been wanting to get her a puppy for her birthday. she always goes back and forth between wanting a dog and not wanting one, but finally we convinced her to get one. they just bring so much joy into your life, and she needs that. everyone needs that! well, last week i found the cutest little puppy in the whole wide world, so we got it for her. she is a morkie (maltese/yorkie), 9 weeks old, and as adorable as can be. she named her chloe, and she is just a little bundle of love and excitement. she is very playful and has the cutest little bark. duke doesn't like her and claus is afraid of her, but i think they will warm up in time!
last night was one of the worst nights ever! i was up at my mom's house, and chloe was just acting very weird. she had slept most of the day and was not her cute playful self. she fell off the couch earlier in the day, and the cat scratched her in the eye, so we just figured those two things had worn her out. well as the night went on, she started drooling really badly and could barely lift her head up. omg, i do not do well in situations like this and i am very paranoid to begin with, but i was trying so hard to be calm and rational for my mom. long story short, we ended up at the pet ER in slc at 10:00 last night. the vet concluded that chloe had a concussion from falling off the couch earlier in the day, and suggested we leave her over night. it was so SO awful but we got her back today and she is back to her cute self. the worst part of having a pet is when something bad like this happens. you develop so much love for them, and you are responsible for their life, it is just so traumatizing when bad things happen! and i know i am not the only one that feels this way. for all of you rolling your eyes saying to yourselves, "its just a pet," it really isn't. they become your kids. anyway, i am so thankful that chloe is feeling better. i am so glad that spring is finally here...or trying to get here at least. these warmer, sunnier, longer days just brighten my spirits and make me happier! the weddings have begun, and i love it! one of my favorite parts of being a former chi omega are all the weddings i get invited to! i love seeing all my friends and catching up on life. now that some of us are married, and graduated and no longer living in logan, i don't see these girls nearly enough, but i do cherish the times i do get to see them!
well that is it for now. goodbye!

Completely understand about pets. And your mom's is soooo super cute! Where did you find her? A girl I work with is wanting a yorkie, but I bet she'd love one like your moms.
