and i had to start again, with just my children and my wife
i'd thank my lucky stars to be livin' here today
cuz the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away

and i'm proud to be an american where at least i know i'm free
and i won't forget the men who died and gave that right to me
and i gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today

i'm so grateful for the freedoms and opportunities we are able to enjoy in this beautiful country we live in and for the men and women who sacrificed (and continue to sacrifice) their lives to make it possible. i love travelling and seeing new places and cultures, but i am always so glad to come home...there is just something about the united states, ya know?! :)
