..july..

july is always one of my favorite months bc it is at the heart of the summer! i love the warm weather and sunshine, the rainless days, the bbq's, the long days...there is just so much that i love about the summer, and july in particular.

earlier in the month we went to a wedding for one of lance's friends from college. it was fun to see people we hadn't seen in a while, and weird to realize that we are all grown up!
we both had to work on the 4th of july, so no parades for us, but we did go to the sugarhouse park firework show that night and it was SO MUCH FUN! lance's sister wendy had the fabulous idea to bring stuff to make sandwiches and homemade rootbeer...and they were both delicious! the firework show was fabulous, and luckily it didn't start to sprinkle until right after they finished.

july is kind of a busy month at work for me...we have tournaments galore up at the jeremy. sadly, the most important tournament of the year happened to fall on the same day as lance's 10 year high school reunion up in billings, montana...so i was unable to attend. :( lance and his mom were going to go up and visit friends and go to the reunion, but last minute they changed their mind. i was pretty bummed that we weren't able to go up together, but so happy that lance decided not to go alone bc he would have been gone over my birthday also! hopefully we will make it to the 20 year!

my birthday was july 18, which happened to be a sunday. sunday birthdays are generally no fun, but this sunday birthday turned out great! our friends, dave and jenny, threw a party for our other friend, ben, and me. we ate some delicious food, and particularly delicious cupcakes/cake! it was fun to hang out with friends for awhile. after that party lance and i went to my grandparents where we had more cake with my family. it was a good day, and i can't believe i am 24 years old! well that is all i can think of right now. nothing too exciting, but its been a fun month. we are absolutely LOVING living in our house in woods cross. we are so much closer to most of the things we love, and our dogs are enjoying their nice big backyard where they can run around free all day long!

here is another before/after pic:

..fireplace before....fireplace after..since the wood was a bit outdated, we decided to paint, the fireplace, and then apply a glaze. of course lance did it and i absolutely love how it turned out! i put in my part by using the gift card my mom gave me for the birthday to decorate it. :)

have a great day!

So, we have the ugly gold fireplace and I love how you changed yours to all black! How did you do it? Did you change out the entire fireplace frame/glass? If so, where did you get it!? Any tips you have, I'd appreciate them!

And, a belated Happy Birthday!
